Exciting Gold Intersections at Wandean

On the 20th January 2014, Nagambie Mining Ltd (ASX: NAG,  www.nagambiemining.com.au) announced results of its late 2013 RC program of 33 holes at Wandean.  Gold intersections of 21.1 g/t and 10.6 g/t over one metre intervals were reported.  Of the 1939 metres drilled, 17 1-metre intersections returned more than 2 g/t gold, and wide zones of low grade gold averaging around 1 g/t were reported.

These are the highest gold values recorded in a drilling program in oxide material, for the whole of the Nagambie region – the highest gold value recorded while drilling out the Nagambie Mine (9 km to the south east) in the late 1980s was 16.3 g/t.  The gold intersections have confirmed the exploration strategy developed for Nagambie Mining by Exploration Management Services, based on regional south directed thrusting which developed anticlinal folds in the footwalls to the major reverse faults, later to be brecciated and mineralised.

Perhaps Nagambie will prove to be more than a one-mine Goldfield?
